BLUE IS BACK! ...AGAIN... |

Is this a case of deja vu? 1988 saw the appearance of the
first ever blue Smarties. They then disappeared, only to reappear in 1989 with the marketing slogan
BLUE IS BACK. Here is the tube I'm talking
about... |

Fast forward to 2006 and blue is dispensed with when the artificial colours are taken out
of the ingredients. Then, in January 2008...BLUE IS BACK (again). |

A couple of other changes to note. Firstly, the Best Before
date is now printed on the dark blue background of the end of the tube. If you go back to previous
tubes you will see it still printed on the end of the box, but within a lighter blue square
panel.
Change two is the calorie count on the Smarties per tube. it
has dropped from 184 to 174. |
